WHAT'S GOING ON
Well fall is getting closer and closer....
Summer is almost over.
What's been happening out there? I haven't heard
from anyone. Is everyone having a dull summer?
We started out really well and alot of you
were getting awards at almost every local cruise/show.
Now everything has gotten very quiet!
Frank went to MOPAR Nationals. Sorry to
hear he came away without an award.
Dennis and Cheryl represented the Sultans at
the Good Guys Blue Suede Cruise at Summit
Raceway Park in Norwalk, Ohio. It was a great
trip. Some locals got awards...Wally (Pickles)
Coligan got "Best Cool Custom" with his '51 Chevy...
Bob Betz got "Good Guys Pick" with
a '54 Chevy. Rumor has it that the
Blue Suede Cruise may not be at Norwalk
next year. We'll just have to wait
and see what Good Guys will do.
A few of us went to Cedar Creek Park
and had a great day. ALOT of cars,
shopping, eating and two shows by the Vogues.
Another good cruise/show was at The
Serbian-American Cultural Center in Weirton,
WV. R.T. and Sophia, Jim and Lynn and Dennis
and Cheryl all went there. The Fort
Steuben Street Rods put on a good event.
There is a great all-you-can-eat
brunch (that is EVERY Sunday there), they have
a car "Teeter Totter" and if you have never
seen anyone do that, it's fun to watch,
there is a nice Chinese Auction, trophies AND
they set a bar up outside...
It don't get any better than that! ha
Finally, I want to personally thank R.T.
He came up to the Washington Hospital and
sat in a dunk tank for 30 minutes
all for charity..AND..it was the coolest
day of the summer so far! I was a
little disappointed that some Sultans didn't
come up and throw some balls at him.
That's OK,
I DRENCHED him SEVERAL times (I may
have cheated once or twice). It was
for a good cause. My department, The
Cardiac Cath Lab, was collecting money for The
American Heart Association. Besides R.T.,
there was only one other volunteer who
did NOT work at the hospital and
that was Scott Reese who is South
Strabane Fire Chief. We went from
9am to 5pm. There were Doctors, Administration,
Nurses...around 15 volunteers in all
and we managed to raise $1100.00!
Thank-You R.T. for being a part
of it & for being such a good sport!
DON'T FORGET -
MEETING AT TOY'S WEDNESDAY,
SEPT. 1st AT 7pm
AND THE WINNER IS....
August 15th
Dennis Mazza got "BEST TRUCK" Weirton, WV
~~~~CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!~~~~
